Clio Ice Trophy

Baptiste Panissié (SRD/WRM) ran the table on Sunday at round two of the Clio Ice Trophy. A podium finisher to kick off the campaign, the Frenchman was unstoppable, setting the fastest time in practice, Q1 and Q2 to claim the 15 intermediate points on offer before winning the A Final ahead of Jordi Nualart (Brunet Competition) and Valentin Comte (SRD/WRM). Title holder Antonio Otero (Puzzle Motor) did well to win the B Final, beating Thomas Leal (Team Dufas) and Joaquin Rodrigo (Brunet Competition) to take the lead in the general classification. The Spaniard has a four-point lead over Baptiste Panissié at mid-season. The chase group led by Juan Manuel Grigera (Driveland) is more than 20 points behind the duo.

Clio Cup Middle East

The Clio Cup Middle East was also in action with round three of its calendar at the Dubai Autodrome. Starting from pole on Friday, Harry Hannam (ECBX Motorsport) saw victory slip from his grasp for the first time this season after a slow start followed by contact at turn one. Ivan Tverdohlebov (Continental Racing) took advantage to take his first win ahead of Youssef Gaber (Uniq Racing) and Stanislav Novikov (Continental Racing). On Saturday, Harry Hannam bounced back to win ahead of Ivan Tverdohlebov and Stanislav Novikov. In the general classification, Harry Hannam now has a 49-point lead over Ivan Tverdohlebov, leader of the Gentlemen category. The Briton still leads in the Challengers class.

Coming up

Clio Ice Trophy and Clio Cup Middle East competitors will return this week. For the former, round three takes place on Saturday on a new layout at the Pas de la Casa Circuit. Their tarmac counterparts will head to Yas Marina on Friday and Saturday to begin the second half of the season.
