This weekend’s resumption of several national championships saw Clio Rally3, Clio Rally4, and Clio Rally5 succeed on all surfaces in Belgium, Mexico, Portugal and Turkey !

Mexican Rally Championship

Four years after its competitive debut on the special stages around León and Guanajuato, Clio Rally5 scored another success in Mexico. The model won the RC5, Rally5 and Novice classes with Patrice Spitalier and Rubén García, sixth overall in the Rally of Nations, marking the start of the Mexican Rally Championship. The Mexican driver and his Argentinian co-driver led two 1-2s for Clio Rally5, the first in Rally5 ahead of Gustavo Uriostegui and David Hernández, the second in RC5 ahead of the Franco-Brazilian duo of Hilaire and Laura Damiron. Meanwhile, Gustavo Uriostegui and David Hernández contributed to México TV4’s victory in the nation-team standings ahead of Scandinavia and GTO 200 Años, which included Patrice Spitalier and Rubén García.

Belgian Rally Championship

Eight-time Belgian Rally Champion Pieter Tsjoen was behind the wheel of a Clio Rally3 on the Rally van Haspengouw, round one of the Belgian Rally Championship. Co-driven by daughter Juliette, the Belgian monopolised the fastest times on the tarmac to win the RC3 and finish fourth in the Master Cup. Fifteenth overall, he also had the luxury of finishing ahead of several crews in the higher categories.

Portuguese Rally Championship

Reigning Portugal’s two-wheel drive rally champion, Gonçalo Henriques got his title defence off to the perfect start on the special stages of the Rali Serras de Fafe, leading Clio Rally4 to victory by more than three minutes. Along with co-driver Gonçalo Cunha, the Portuguese won the two-wheel drive, RC4 and Junior categories. Their compatriots Luís Caetano and David Monteiro also excelled on home turf, getting their campaign off to an ideal start with first place in the RC5 class with Clio Rally5.

Turkish Rally Championship

Three Clio Rally3s lined up at the start of the Sarikamis Rallisi for the first snow-covered round of the Turkish Rally Championship. Burcu Çetinkaya and Murat Yilmaz stood out in particular, with the Women’s national title holder winning the Women’s category once again while finishing fifth in the RC3 classification and ninth overall.

French Rally Cup

Clio Rally3 and Clio Rally5 were also victorious in France, with two victories on the Rallye de la Côte Fleurie thanks to Christophe Gouville and Brice Ricou in Rally3 and a lockout of the top-eight led by Chris Langé and Nicolas Roney in Rally5. Meanwhile, Clio Rally5 won its class with Lucas and Cholé Jacoup on the Rallye Bordeaux Aquitaine Classic, while Thomas Vergines and Joris Sinet claimed a class podium with Clio Rally4.

And elsewhere…

Clio Rally4 also enjoyed success on the tarmac of the Rampa da Ponta do Sol (Portugal), with Rui Jorge Fernandes and João Pedro Freitas winning the P2-4 class and finishing fifth overall, while Clio Rally4 finished runner-up in its class with Enrique and Jesus Gutiérrez Acosta at Rallycrono Ciudad de Córdoba (Spain).
