Clio Rally3 wins the Dutch Rally Championship, Clio Rally4 takes the title in Chile and Clio Rally5 is the champion in Uruguay and Italy... A look back at another successful weekend for Renault !

FIA CODASUR Rally Championships

Held in Uruguay, the final round of the leading South American competition saw Clio Rally5 sweep the top four places in its class, led by Uruguayan Alfonso López and Argentine Miguel Recalt in RC4 Light on Rally del Atlántico. The duo also clinched a podium finish in CODASUR4. The event also hosted the season finale of the Uruguayan Rally Championship, where the crew finished third overall to snatch the RC4 and RC4N Light national championships.

Chilean Rally Championship

A Clio was also honoured in the Chilean Rally Championship on Rally Puerto Montt. Led by Uruguayan Ignacio Gardiol and his Argentinian co-driver Rubén García, Clio Rally4 won by more than a minute in RC4. One year after his Rally5 win, Ignacio Gardiol has clinched another national title ahead of next month’s final round, Rally de Los Lagos.

Dutch Rally Championship

Renault also claimed another title in Europe. Fourth overall on the Drenthe Rally, Ben van de Laar and Marlon Krieger led a one-two for Clio Rally3 in RC3 to secure the national crown and the NC3 title. Clio Rally5 was not to be outdone by the success of Maikel Verkade and Sarah Haulrik in the NC5 class, which Elbert Deij won this season in a similar model. Last but not least, Clio Rally5 was also crowned in the Ladies Cup with Esmee den Hartigh.

Italian Gravel Rally Championship

Clio Rally3 claimed another victory in Italy in the hands of Andrea Dalmazzini and Andrea Albertini on the Rally delle Marche. The pair won every stage in their class and were nearly four minutes ahead when their nearest rivals retired on SS5. This solid performance saw them finish fifth in the season-ending 4WD Cup general classification. The event also saw Asia Vidori and Jasmine Manfredi claim the Women’s Clio Rally5 title.

French Rally Cup

In France, Clio Rally3, Clio Rally4 and Clio Rally5 won their respective classes on the Mare è Machja Rally with Laurent Papi and Jean-Michel Perrin, Pierre-Marien Leonardi and Lucie Raynaud and Florian Barboutan and Lou-Anne Santucci.

Clio Rally3 and Clio Rally5 also scored a double victory on the Rallye Conflent Fenouillèdes, with Gaël Tribouillois - Benjamin Durand and Olivier Gaston - Olivier Tassano. There was a similar double on the Rallye de Picardie, with Victorien Houyelle and Marc Haddad finishing second overall and Loïc Blanpain and Alicia Duhamel winning Rally5.

Meanwhile, the Clio Rally4 crew of Sébastien Darin and Andréa Laurent won on the Rallye du Grand Sénonais. Clio Rally4 and Clio Rally5 were victorious at the Rallye de Brocéliande, with Dorian Deslandes and Léa Pustelnik finishing sixth place overall and Sébastien and Emma Alemany winning Rally5. Lastly, Clio Rally5 set the pace in Rally5 with Sylvain Rouquette and Marjorie Mercier on the Rallye du Bas-Vivarais.

And elsewhere…

Clio Rally3 won once again overall on the Canary Islands with Fernando Cruz and Juan Ricardo Luis. The duo won five of the six Rallysprint de La Gomera stages in changing conditions to beat a trio of Rally2s, including the new Canarian Rallysprint champions. On the same roads, the Clio Rally4 of José Bello and Cristian González finished in the top ten, and Demetrio Suárez and Pedro Hernández’ won their class in their Clio Rally5.

There were also several successes in Italy. At the Ronde Valli Imperiesi, Clio Rally3 won its class with Matteo Giordano and Manuela Siragusa, as did Clio Rally5 with Danilo Baravalle and Davide Leone. Clio Rally5 also won with Giacomo Matteuzzi and Juri Frosini on Rally Città di Scandicci, while Francesco Paccagnella and Luca Cornacchia did the same at the Special Rally Circuit by Vedovati Corse.

There was more success in Belgium, where Timothy and Clementine van Parijs led aClio Rally3 lockout of the top four in 3G at the 6 Uren van Kortrijk, where Jonas Dewilde and Louis Vandenbruwaene were victorious in 2D in their Clio Rally5. Leny Cols and Pascal Lopes also won their class with Clio Rally5 at the Rallye des Crêtes.

Clio Rally5 excelled at the Ried-Rallye-Sprint (Germany), where Marco Thomas and Jasmin Santos finished fourth overall and won the RC5 class. Gustavo Uriostegui and Eduard Ferrán won at the Rally Ciudad de Pozoblanco (Spain), as did Vítězslav Baďura and Matěj Jonášek at the Daltek Rally Fulnek-Odry (Czech Republic).

Coming up

This week, Clio Rally3 will compete in the FIA World Rally Championship final with the Corsican duo of Ghjuvanni Rossi and Kylian Sarmezan on FORUM8 Rally Japan. A Clio Rally5 will also be on the starting grid with the local team of Mitsuhiro Kunisawa and Masahiko Kihara. The French Rally Championship will also conclude at the Rallye du Var, with three Clio Rally3s, including that of Benjamin and Florence Stirling, three Clio Rally4s and 18 Clio Rally5s in action. Lastly, the Clio Cup Middle East will return to the track with a test day this Tuesday at the Dubai Autodrome, which will host the season opener on November 22 and 23.
