With an overall victory for Clio Rally4 and further successes for Clio Rally3 and Clio Rally5 across Europe, it was another rewarding weekend for the crews who put their faith in Renault !
FIA European Rally Trophy
Final round of the FIA European Rally Trophy, the Internationale ADMV Lausitz Rally was the scene of a 1-2 for Clio Rally3. Ninth overall on the German stages, the Polish duo of Hubert Kowalczyk and Jarosław Hryniuk won ahead of Germans Ron Schumann and Claudia Harloff in RC3 while claiming fourth in ERT Junior. The Clio Rally3 tandem of Timo and Jasmin Weigert also showed well in finishing in the top four of the class.
German Rally Cup
Clio Rally4 starred at the ADAC Saarland Rallye as the event hosted the DMSB Rallye Cup finale. On home soil and co-driven by Ann Felke, Max Schumann led Clio Rally4 to the overall win, 27.3s ahead of a RC2 competitor. Clio Rally5 was not to be outdone, dominating RC5 with the success of the Marco Thomas - Lisa Winter duo over Tim Wacker - Luca Kiefer, title-winners in Classes RC2-5 and Renault Sindermann Rally Cup. Daniel and Sandra Wittner rounded off an RC5 podium monopolized by Clio Rally5.
Turkish Rally Championship
Three Clio Rally3s and three Clio Rally5s lined up at the İstanbul Rallisi, the seventh and final round of the Turkish Rally Championship. Sinan Soylu and Özgür Akdağ placed their Clio Rally3 in the overall top ten, while Eda Soylu and Yusuf Çalik won the Women’s category. Meanwhile, Ugur Kaban and Melih Uygur led Clio Rally5 to victory in RC5 and second place in two-wheel drive. Burcu Çetinkaya, who had already won the Women’s category with Clio Rally5, finished third in RC5 with co-driver Sena Er.
FIA Central European Zone
Clio Rally4 earned a podium result on Rally Poreč, the penultimate round of the FIA CEZ. On the Croatian roads, the Czech Republic’s Filip Ocelka and Tomáš Plachý finished runners-up in the CEZ3 class. Clio Rally5 also impressed with podium places for Marko Fakin and Aleksandar Radovčić in the final of the Croatian Rally Championship.
French Rally Cup
In France, Bastien Bouverat and Nicolas Tarroux overtook their rivals on the Rallye de l’Épine - Avant Pays Savoyard to lead a Clio Rally5 sweep of the top five in its class. Clio Trophy France Asphalte regulars Jérôme Janny and Aurélien Beaudouin also set the pace on the Rallye des Vins de Champagne to lead another all-Clio Rally5 podium.
And elsewhere…
Clio Rally3 won the Halloween Ronde, the third and final round of the San Marino Rally Championship. Italians Alex Marti and Alberto Bentivogli won Rally3 by a margin of 13.1s over their closest pursuers. On the same stages, Giovanni Villardi and Mattea Modenini guided Clio Rally5 to another class victory. Clio Rally5 also enjoyed success in Portugal, with Carlos Marreiros and Ricardo Barreto posting an overall top-ten result and leading a sweep of the top three lead in P2-4 at the Rali Município de Albufeira.
Coming up
The French Gravel Rally Championship concludes at the Rallye Terre de Vaucluse this weekend. Eight Clio Rally3 crews, two Clio Rally4 duos - including that of Clio Trophy France Asphalte winner Arthur Pelamourgues - and 13 Clio Rally5 entries will be in action. Best Junior in Clio Trophy France Terre, Tom Pellerey, will be in contention to win the French 2WD Gravel Rally Championship. Meanwhile, the final round of the Clio Trophy Spain Asfalto will take place on the Rallye La Nucía Mediterráneo, where Juan Carlos Fernández will start with a ten-point lead over the chase group led by Javier Cañada.
