This past weekend brought the Clio Trophy France Asphalte, Clio Trophy Canarias and Clio Cup GB seasons to a close, while Clio Rally3, Clio Rally4 and Clio Rally5 put in fine performances and more victories across Europe !

Clio Trophy France Asphalte

The Clio Trophy France Asphalte season finale, cut short by a prefectural ruling due to the weather forecast, saw Julien Deslauriers Sablonnière and Amandine Brunel win the Critérium des Cévennes. Junior Arthur Pelamourgues sealed his title and the Jean Ragnotti Power Stage Trophy while contributing to Fun Meca Sport’s triumph. The Frenchman will continue his career with the Charente-Maritime-based team in his official programme in 2025. Pascal Bérard (Gentlemen), Charlotte Olea (Women) and David Automobiles (Renault Network Challenge) won the remaining titles on offer.

French Rally Championship

Benjamin and Florence Stirling finished their campaign in the official Castrol Clio Rally3 with a flourish. The pair claimed their fourth successive win and fifth podium in as many starts at the end of a shortened Critérium des Cévennes. The pair finished in the overall top ten, along with Thomas Chauffray and Anthony Hamard, who also finished second in the Michelin Premium Trophy. Jérémie Serieys and Stéphane Crespin completed the class treble after a breathless battle between the three Clio Rally3s. Meanwhile, the Clio Rally5s of Charlotte Olea - Cécile Pages and Sabine Frontier - Elodie Pitot finished on the French Women’s Rally Championship podium.

Clio Trophy Canarias

Noé Armas won the third Clio Trophy Canarias. Second in the final general classification last year, the new winner was crowned in style on the Rally de Maspalomas. Co-driven by Ruymán Reyes, the Spaniard gave his rivals no chance by winning all eight stages on the route to claim victory by more than six minutes over the duo of Aythami Cruz and Jonathan Méndez. This performance enabled him to take the lead and take the title from Álvaro Santana and Juan Monzón, who finished third.

Clio Cup GB

Relaunched this season, the Clio Cup Great Britain concluded at Brands Hatch. Ben Colburn (Westbourne Motorsport) took the two pole positions at stake, but the races proved to be more closely contested, with Daire Flock (Westbourne Motorsport) winning the first confrontation by leading a top five that was less than a second apart at the chequered flag. Daire Flock then repeated the feat, winning by two seconds from Nicky Taylor (Graves Motorsport), who claimed the title despite his rival’s pair of victories.

Italian Gravel Rally Championship

The Rally dei Nuraghi e del Vermentino hosted the season’s penultimate round in the Italian Gravel Rally Championship. Clio Rally3 claimed a class podium in the hands of Davide Biancu and Giovanni Maria Mazzone, while Manuele Stella and Sara Refondini completed a hat-trick for Clio Rally5. Third in Rally5, Asia Vidori and Jasmine Manfredi also won the Women’s category and are now mathematically assured of the title ahead of the season finale at Rally delle Marche.

Dutch Rally Championship

Seven Clio Rally3s and five Clio Rally5s competed in the Rocar-Tech Twente Rally, the penultimate event on the national calendar. Seventh overall, Jeroen Klein Kromhof and Jouri Dockx led a Clio Rally3 sweep of the top four in RC3. Meanwhile, Elbert Deij and Martine van den Heuvel-Kolman won the RC5. Both models will compete for their class titles next month on the Drenthe Rally.

Romanian Rally Championship

The 2024 Romanian Championship drew to a close with the inaugural edition of the Raliul Vâlcii. Reis Suliman and Alina Bianca Pop won the last round of the Clio Rally5 Challenge on the gravel stages, while Elliott Delecour had already secured the title. The Romanian duo impressed, finishing runners-up in the RC5 and Juniors classes.

Swiss Rally Championship

The last round of the 2024 calendar, the Rallye International du Valais saw Clio Rally3 win in RC3 with the Belgian crew of Timothy van Parijs and Steven Vergalle. On the same roads, Clio Rally5 was not to be outdone with victory in RC5 for Vincent Sermier and Sébastien Derivaz. There was also a podium finish in the Michelin Alps Trophy for the Clio Rally4 of Didier Postizzi and Cédric Moulin.

French Rally Cup

Clio Rally3 also won in France with Frédéric Flajolet and Antoine Dhaisne, who finished fifth overall on the Rallye du Pays du Lin, where Clio Rally5 also won its class with Loïc Blanpain and Lucas Beaussart. On Reunion Island, Dominique Hoarau and William Jourlin finished fifth on the Rallye de Saint-Joseph to win Rally3 in an event where Clio Rally5 dominated its class with Samuel Hoarau and Stéphane Duverger. Lastly, Clio Rally3 won with Victorien Houyelle and Alexandre Desquiret on the Rallye de la Porte Normande, where Dorian Deslandes and Léa Pustelnik caused a sensation by entering the overall top five with Clio Rally4.

WRC3 regulars Ghjuvanni Rossi and Kylian Sarmezan finished fourth overall, winning in Rally5 on the Rallye di e Strade Vecchie before their return to their Clio Rally3 next month on Rally Japan. Jason Veret and Julie Derory on the Rallye des Monts Dôme, Sylvain Rouquette and Marjorie Mercier on the Rallye de Sarrians and Rudy and Tylan Bollud on the Rallye de la Noix de Grenoble completed the list of Clio Rally5 successes.

And elsewhere…

Clio Rally3 scored a double victory at the ADAC Freilassinger Schotter Rallyesprint (Germany), where Nico Weigert and Lena Kaiser won the first RC3 clash on Saturday before Timo, and Jasmin Weigert replied on Sunday to tend with a double top-five finish overall. Meanwhile, Carsten Jensen and Michael Fasterholdt led Clio Rally3 to second place in the final of the Yokohama Mesterskab (Denmark), an event in which Clio Rally5 also finished on the class podium and in the top ten overall with Kim and Tobias Abildgaard.

Clio Rally4 also enjoyed success in Portugal with a one-two finish in P2-4 led by Emanuel and Ana Martins at the Rampa de Porto Moniz. Lastly, Clio Rally5 won the X2 class with Stanislav Zeman and Ján Konfal at Rally Liptov (Slovakia), a performance which saw them seal their regional title in style. Meanwhile, Daniel and Sandra Wittner dominated RC5 on the ADAC rthb Rallye Hessisches Bergland (Germany), as did Simone Sabatella and Nancy Dragonetti on Rally 2 Laghi - Rally dell’Ossola (Italy). Rosario Siragusano and Alessandro Casella also won with Clio Rally5 on Rally Valle del Belice (Italy), where Clio Rally4 finished just off the podium with Giovanni Cutrera and Valentina Di Palermo.
