In addition to the Clio Cup Series, Clio Rally3 triumphed for the second time in the World Rally Championship, Clio Rally4 excelled in South America, and Clio Rally5 won the French Rally Cup Final. Clio Rally5 and Clio RX also produced new winners in their competitions.

Clio Cup Series

Already crowned in the Clio Cup Series and Clio Cup France with Gabriele Torelli, Clio Cup España with Damiano Puccetti and Clio Cup Mid-Europe with Lorenzo van Riet, the Rangoni Corse team completed its grand slam by winning Clio Cup Italia with Anthony Jurado. After the two races won by David Pouget (GPA Racing) and Nicolas Milan (Milan Compétition) by narrow margins, the final titles in the Juniors, Challengers and Gentlemen categories were also decided at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza.

FIA World Rally Championship

Clio Rally3 scored its second WRC3 victory on the Central European Rally. In tricky conditions, Matteo Chatillon and Maxence Cornuau took the lead on SS4, before combining performance and consistency to win by almost a minute. Second in the championship, the ARL Sport crew supported by 3P Racing was joined on the podium by the Clio Rally3 of Germany’s Hermann Gaßner and Michael Wenzel.

Clio Trophy Spain Tierra

Runner-up to Ramón Cornet in 2023, Aritz Iriondo exacted his revenge by winning this year’s Clio Trophy Spain Tierra. Co-driven by Joseba Sánchez, the Basque finished second behind their closest rivals, Jordi Nualart and Borja Odriozola, in RallyRACC Catalunya Costa Daurada to secure the title. Alexandre Villiod and Maëlle Casays completed the podium, while Emiliano Retama and Eduard Ferrán claimed third in the standings.

Clio Trophy Galicia

Season two of the Clio Trophy Galicia also ended this weekend. Winning at the Rallye San Froilán, Álvaro Castro and co-driver Isidro Rey claimed the title in their Clio Rally5. The duo backed by the Galician Automobile Federation won ahead of Gabriel Rodríguez Gándara - Alejandro Vaqueiro and Iván Vázquez - David Vázquez in a podium identical to that of the trophy’s final overall classification.

Italian Junior Rally Championship

Rallye Sanremo hosted the final round of the Italian Junior Rally Championship, with an all-Clio Rally5 field prepared by Motorsport Italia. Already boasting three wins and two-second places, Matteo Doretto and co-driver Marco Frigo put in an intelligent weekend to finish third and clinch the title despite the victory of Francesco Dei Ceci and Nicolò Lazzarini.

French Rally Cup

Eighteen Clio Rally5s were on hand for the French Rally Cup Final in Nice, and the model won its class after a thrilling duel between Marc Pompei - Alexandre Guerrini and Loïc Scandola - Wendy Maiolini, separated by just 4.3s at the finish. Julien Charnay and Maxime Gomez put a third Clio Rally5 on the podium. Meanwhile, Clio Rally4 finished third in its class in the hands of Frédéric Meurant and Kévin Aumeunier.

French Junior Rallycross Championship

2023 runner-up Valentin Lumet took the final step to the title with the win in the season finale at Dreux. The driver from Varades gave little or no chance to his rivals, led by his Eleven Motorsport teammate Kelig Gouesbet. The latter finished fourth in the final, behind Bryan Dufas and Mélanie Lefrançois.

Clio Rally3 shone on the Cyprus Rally, where Petros Panteli and Pambos Laos put their experience to good use to win their class and finish fourth overall, ahead of several Rally2 entries in the Middle East Rally Championship. There were two Clio Rally3-Clio Rally5 double wins : firstly with Michiel Stubbe - Dylan Vanden Bussche and Stijn Naert - Steven Ramboer on the Hermicuda Rally (Belgium), but also with Leonardo Scalco - Mattia Toffano and Fabio Rivaldi - Paolo Tiziani on the Trentino Rally (Italy).

Clio Rally4 impressed on the other side of the Atlantic with Leandro Brustolin and Andrey Karpinski at Erechim Rally Brasil (Brazil), victorious in Rally4, second in CODASUR4 and just off the podium in the Brazilian championship. At the same time, Ignacio Gardiol and Rubén García scored another success, finishing sixth overall and first in RC4 and Rally4 in the Rally de Rio Bueno - Ranco - La Union (Chile). Similarly, Clio Rally4 won in P2-4 at the PicoWines Rali (Portugal) with Emanuel Garcia and Nélson Dinis.

Lastly, Clio Rally5 remained in contention for a national title in Slovenia, with Jure Jereb and Matej Praček winning Rally Soča Valley (Slovenia) and Thomas Vronen and Yoan De Mol winning the 4/12 class with Clio Rally5 at Rallye Hautes Fagnes (Belgium).

Coming up

Two trophies dedicated to Clio Rally5 will conclude this week. The Clio Trophy France Asphalte goes to the Critérium des Cévennes, where the runner-up positions and some class titles are still up for grabs for the 29 crews entered. Four Clio Rally3s, including the official Castol-backed entry of Benjamin Stirling, will also be in action. The Clio Trophy Canarias will see Álvaro Santana, Noé Armas and Victor Valido battle for the title at the Rallye de Maspalomas, and Clio Cup GB will conclude its inaugural season at Brands Hatch with Nicky Taylor, Daire Flock and Ben Colburn all vying for the crown.
