In addition to the Clio Cup Series and Clio Trophy France Terre, Clio Rally3, Clio Rally4, and Clio Rally5 excelled across Europe yet again. The title race continued with Clio RX in the French Junior Rallycross Championship !

Clio Cup Series

2022 Clio Cup Italia winner and 2023 Clio Cup Mid-Europe champion Gabriele Torelli (Rangoni Corse) added the Clio Cup Series and Clio Cup France to his collection. The Italian also saw two of his teammates impress at Circuit Paul Ricard. Challenger Lorenzo van Riet secured the Clio Cup Mid-Europe crown, and Anthony Jurado took the lead in Clio Cup Italia ahead of the season finale at Monza (18-20 October). Two Junior titles were also secured this past weekend : Mauro Polderman (AST Competition) in Clio Cup Mid-Europe and Leonardo Arduini (MC Motortecnica) in Clio Cup Italia.

French Gravel Rally Championship

At the Rallye Terre des Cardabelles, Simon and Yves Heinemann claimed their second straight victory with Clio Rally3. The duo set seven of the ten fastest times to finish seventh overall and first in Rally3. The crews of Michaël Lobry - Gaëtan Parade and Jérôme Jacquot - Jean-Christophe Delcambre ensured an all-Clio Rally3 podium. Meanwhile, Sylvain and Matthieu Tamisier finished runner-up in their class with their Clio Rally4. Benjamin Boulenc and Chloé Barozzi-Gauze won in the French Two-Wheel Drive Gravel Rally Championship with their Clio Rally5.

Clio Trophy France Terre

Benjamin Boulenc and Chloé Barozzi-Gauze won the final duel for the Clio Trophy France Terre title at the Rallye Terre des Cardabelles. With this success, Fun Meca Sport by Meccanocar won the team championship and will run Tom Pellerey’s future mount as part of the official program promised to the best Junior. Vincent Favre-Miville (Gentlemen), Déborrah Marie (Women) and Bandelier Automobiles (Challenge Réseau Renault) complete the list of winners of this 2024 edition.

Greek Rally Championship

Clio Rally3, with Paschalis Chatzimarkos and Marios Tsaoussoglou, scored another victory in the Greek Rally Championship and finished fifth overall in the myKTEO Fthinoporino Rally. The EMC Motorsport duo was joined on the Rally3 and C2 podiums by the Clio Rally3 of Efthimios Halkias and Nikos Komnos. The season finale also saw Athanasios Athanasoulas and Vasilis Basioukas lead Clio Rally5 to success in C6.

Finnish Rally Championship

Already national champions in SM4, Ville Vatanen and Hannu Lamminen claimed their second SM2 victory in as many starts with Clio Rally3. Winning SM2 by 51.2s over class champions Fixus SM Ralli Kitee, the duo moved up to third place in the championship despite their late start to the campaign. Also noteworthy was the SM3 podium and overall top ten finish for Italians Valentino Ledda and Claudio Mele with Clio Rally4.

French Junior Rallycross Championship

Kelig Gouesbet kept the suspense alive by winning in Essay to prevent Valentin Lumet from sealing the title this weekend. The Breton took his second win of the season ahead of Gautier Sarhy, now assured of finishing on the season-ending podium. Mélanie Lefrançois and Florian Alemany followed third-placed Valentin Lumet. The Clio RX season finale will occur at Dreux on 19 and 20 October.

French Rally Cup

Clio Rally5 scored three more wins in France. Julien Charnay and Charlotte Baille won their class on the Rallye de l’Ardèche, as did Alex Florenson and Charline Dichamp on the Rallye du Pays de Montbéliard, and Anthony and Philippa Dominici on the Rallye Fium’Orbu Castellu.

Clio Rally3 won overall with Fernando Cruz Ramos and Juan Ricardo Luis Bautista at Rallysprint de Atogo (Spain) by 1.8s over a Rally2 competitor. Meanwhile, Clio Rally3 won the PRO1 class at MIHEL Rally Radków (Poland) with Hubert Kowalczyk and Dawid Potępa. In Italy, Alberto Sassi and Stefano Costi scored another class win with Clio Rally3 on Rally Terra Sarda, while Croatians Karlo Pelicar and Lina Cukrov were the fastest with Clio Rally5 to score a Rally5-Juniors double.

Clio Rally4 dominated the two-wheel drive classification in the Austrian Rally Championship, with Germany’s Max Schumann and Alessandra Baumann fifth overall in the OBM Land der 1000 Hügel Rally. Clio Rally4 also excelled in its category in Spain with Manuel Jesús Jiménez Olmo and Ignacio Paz at the Rallye Comunidad de Madrid, where Alexandre Villiod and Jacques-Julien Renucci were also victors in their Clio Rally5.

Clio Rally5 was not to be outdone by the victories of Leonardo Della Nina and Dario Giacomelli on Rally Città di Pistoia (Italy), Alessandro Botta and Roberto Aresca on Rally Santo Stefano Belbo (Italy) and Stanislav Zeman and Ján Konfal on the regional version of Rosenberg Rally Moldava (Slovakia).

Coming up

This week, Hubert Kowalczyk and Jarosław Hryniuk in their Clio Rally3 and Ciprian Lupu and Andrei Aițculesei with their Clio Rally5 will be in action at the Rally of Silesia, the final round of the FIA European Rally Championship. The Clio Rally4 of Błażej Gazda and Maciej Mikuliszyn will also compete in this round as part of the Polish Rally Championship. Meanwhile, the final round of the inaugural Clio Trophy Portugal season will occur at Rallye Vidreiro, where three crews can still claim the title.
