While the Clio Cup Series returned to action with three Clio Cup France titles attributed this past weekend, Clio Rally3, Clio Rally4 and Clio Rally5 added to their long list of victories across Europe !

Clio Cup Series

The second half of the season began with a pair of victories for the Rangoni Corse team with Anthony Jurado and Gabriele Torelli at Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours. As a result, Gabriele Torelli has pulled away in the Clio Cup Series and Clio Cup France, while teammate Lorenzo van Riet retained the lead in Clio Cup Mid-Europe. However, three titles were decided this weekend in Clio Cup France : Florian Venturi (GM Sport) in the Juniors category, Calvin Comte (Comte Racing Team) in the Challengers category, and Mickaël Carrée (T2CM) clinched the Gentlemen category on home soil.

Finnish Rally Championship

Clio Rally3 was again victorious on the Finnish national scene thanks to Ville Vatanen and Hannu Lamminen in the Future SM-Ralli. The duo won the SM2 class on the gravel roads of Lahti and finished a fine seventh overall. The rally also saw Belgians Thomas Martens and Eddy Smeets take third place in the SM3 class aboard their Clio Rally4.

Slovenian Rally Championship

In Slovenia, Jure Jereb and Clio Rally5 got back into title contention in D1 by winning the Rally Dolina zelenega zlata. With co-driver Darko Vončina, the Slovenian took the lead on the second tarmac stage near Žalec and never looked back. Igor Žbogar and Tomaž Černe completed the one-two for the model in its category.

French Rally Cup

Clio Rally3 and Clio Rally5 both won at the Rallye National d’Autun La Châtaigne, with Fabrice Martin and Romain Gavoye leading a one-two finish in Rally3 and Axel Delaporte and Clémence Marechal a sweep of the top seven in Rally5. There was a similar performance on the Rallye Régional du Boulonnais, with Mickaël and Aurélie Delrue winning Rally3 and Vincent Robert and Corentin Wallon Rally5. Regular Clio Trophy France Asphalte competitor Yoan Corberand also did the business in his Clio Rally5, winning his class and finishing tenth overall with co-driver Juliette Hamel on the Rallye Régional des Vallées. Éric Sauteur and Cindy Millac added to the Clio Rally5 weekend of success on the Rallye National du Pays Basque.

And elsewhere…

Clio Rally3 and Clio Rally5 secured wins on Rally Città di Torino (Italy), with Daniele Berger and Simone Minetto winning in Rally3 and Simone Spinella and Corrado Courthoud leading a Renault lockout of the top six in Rally5. Still, in Italy, Fabio Rivaldi and Maurizio Vitali won among the 15 Clio Rally5s entered for the Rally del Sebino.

In Germany, Tim Wacker and Luca Kiefer led a Clio Rally5 sweep of the RC5 podium on the ADAC Rallye Oberehe, as Max Schumann and Ann Felke finished sixth place overall and in the RC4 top three in their Clio Rally4. In Spain, Álvaro Castro and Isidro Rey finished sixth on the Rally de Ferrol to win their class with Clio Rally5. Meanwhile, René Degroote and Danny De Busschere were victorious in their Clio Rally5 on the Short Rally van Kasterlee (Belgium), as were Horacio Cánepa and Ricardo Figueroa on Rally Ahuac (Peru). Lastly, Joosep Ralf Nõgene and Ken Järveoja bagged three podiums with Clio Rally3 on the Humus Paide Ralli in the Estonian Rally Championship.

Coming up

This week, the Rallye Terre de Lozère will host 24 Clio Rally5s for the penultimate round of the 2024 Clio Trophy Terre France and round three of the Clio Trophy Spain Tierra, not to mention the eight Clio Rally3s and one Clio Rally4 entered privately. Meanwhile, the Clio Trophy Portugal reaches the season’s halfway point at the Constálica Rallye Vouzela and Viseu. The Bulgarian crew of Aleksandar Tomov and Dimitar Spasov will compete in the FIA European Rally Championship on the asphalt of the Rali Ceredigion in their Clio Rally3. Lastly, the Clio RXs in the FFSA Rallycross Junior Championship will begin the back half of their campaign at Lohéac.
