Clio Rally5 triumphs for the 25th time in the World Rally Championship, Clio Rally4 comes up big in Portugal and a host of medals for all Clio Rally three models in the heat of summer !
FIA World Rally Championship
Clio Rally5 scored its 25th world championship success with Jari Jaakkola and Tatu Nukki winning on home soil at Secto Rally Finland. Meanwhile, Belgium’s Thomas Martens and Eddy Smeets finished runner-up in RC4 with Clio Rally4. Success eluded Matteo Chatillon and Maxence Cornuau, vying for victory in WRC3 with the Castrol Clio Rally3 before they rolled seven times on SS14. The crew escaped injury and is still second in the championship.
Portuguese Rally Championship
Gonçalo Henriques continued to defend his national two-wheel drive title finishing runner-up in the category with Clio Rally4 and co-driver Inês Veiga at round six, the Rali Vinho da Madeira. The event was also marked by an RC4 victory for the Clio Rally4 of Rui Jorge Fernandes and João Pedro Freitas, leading a one-two for the model in two-wheel drive in the Madeira Championship.
Romanian Rally Championship
Clio Rally5 continued its excellent form on the Romanian national scene at the Raliul Moldovei Bacău. Reis Suliman won the RC5 and Juniors classes on the gravel stages with co-driver Alina Bianca Pop to get back into the title race, still led by Eliott Delecour’s Clio Rally5. Meanwhile, Artur Luca and Ștefan Șimon took second place in both categories to give the Renault model a double one-two.
French Rally Cup
Clio Rally3 and Clio Rally5 did the business on the Rallye du Gap Racing, where David Sauvaigo and Mathias Romero won in Rally3, while Nicolas Paviet-Roche and Tony Ponsot led a sweep of the top five in Rally5. There were two more victories at the Rallye du Thouaret, with Alex Gandrieau and Mallaurie Gardrat in Rally4 and a lockout of the top four led by Willy Mathey and Nelly Guillé in Rally5. Still in France, Olivier and Gabin Willame claimed a class win in their Clio Rally5 on the Rallye de Fourmies en Avesnois.
And elsewhere…
Clio Rally5 also impressed in several European rallies, with the class win in Germany for Thomas and Melanie Schultz on the ADAC Holsten Rally, in Spain with Juan Manuel Mañá and Patricia Sáiz Ruiloba on the Rallye Blendio Cristian López Herrero and in San Marino with Santo Siciliano and Rocco Leone on the Circuito dei Campioni. In Italy, Clio Rally5 was victorious on Rally Valli Oltrepò with Andrea Boatti and Giuseppe Sboarina (Rally5 and Juniors), as well as Federica Campochiaro and Rosario Siragusano (Women). There was an identical success on Rally Coppa Città di Lucca thanks to Leonardo Della Nina and Dario Giacomelli (Rally5 and Juniors) and Chiara Galli and Andrea Marco Cecchi (Women). Lastly, Clio Rally5 won with Marco Barzan and Luca Altoè on Rally Città di Scorzè and Roberto Defilippi and Enzo Colombaro on Rally Colli del Monferrato e Moscato.

This weekend, Snetterton will host round three of the Clio Cup GB. Ben Colburn (Westbourne Motorsport), the current leader in the general classification, aims to extend his lead over his closest pursuers, Daire Flock (Westbourne Motorsport) and Nicky Taylor (Graves Motorsport).
