Clio Trophy Portugal debuted at the Rally de Lisboa, where Clio Trophy Spain Asfalto was also in action. Meanwhile, Clio Rally3, Clio Rally4 and Clio Rally5 racked up more victories across Europe and as far away as Guadeloupe.

Clio Trophy Portugal

A new trophy dedicated to Clio Rally5, the Clio Trophy Portugal, was launched on Rally de Lisboa with 11 crews competing. After a fantastic duel, the duo of Gil Antunes and Diogo Correia won by 38 seconds ahead of Pedro Pereira Jr and Tiago Silva. Danny Carreira and Marco Vilas Boas took third place in an event in which Gonçalo Henriques and Inês Veiga starred in their Clio Rally4, taking top honours in the two-wheel drive category and finishing just off the overall podium. The Clio Trophy Portugal will return to the stages on 21 and 22 June at the Rallye Castelo Branco.

Clio Trophy Spain Asfalto

The Clio Trophy Spain Asfalto was also competing in the Rally de Lisboa for the second fixture on its calendar. Runners-up on Rallye Sierra Morena, Juan Carlos Fernández and Óscar Arranz got their revenge, winning by 7.8 seconds from trophy newcomer Sergio Fuentes and co-driver Ariday Bonilla. Nicolás Cabanes and Javier Moltó completed the podium. With his win, the Madrid-born driver takes command of the general classification heading to the Rallye Rías Baixas (5-6 July).

French Rally Cup

In France, Clio Rally3 claimed a one-two finish led by Olivier Giroux and Cédric Hugonnot on the Rallye des Vins Mâcon. Clio Rally5 also impressed there thanks to Jérémy Lafarge and Adélie Terrier. Victory was also on the cards at the Rallye Nice Jean Behra, with a Clio Rally5 hat-trick dominated by Emeric and Sylvia Pollet, as well as at the Rallye Saint-Etienne - Forez with a a sweep of the top five led by Thomas Grayel and Amaury Moulard.

Clio Rally3 notched up another success in Poland with Hubert Kowalczyk and Jarosław Hryniuk winning by more than four minutes from their nearest rivals in Class 3 at Rajd Małopolski. The duo also finished on the podium in CEZ2 and seventh overall, ahead of their WRC home round, Rally Poland (27-30 June). In Finland, Clio Rally3 took fifth place on the Rantaralli in the Finnish Rally Cup with Ville Pynnönen and Ville Mannisenmäki just 1.9 seconds behind the best Rally2 and seven-tenths of a second off the overall podium.

Meanwhile, Clio Rally4 starred in Spain with a podium finish in its class on Rallye Valles Pasiegos in the hands of Aitor Sorozabal and Ion del Cid. Clio Rally5l scored a one-two finish in Rally5 on the Zagreb Delta Rally (Croatia) under the impetus of Romanians Artur Luca and Vlad Colceriu, who also won the ERT Junior class. Clio Rally5 also impressed in Guadeloupe, finishing seventh on the Rallye des Grands-Fonds to win its category with Enzo Mavounzy and Jalylane Maes, Miss Guadeloupe 2023 and Miss France finalist in 2024. Lastly, Shadi El Fakih and Samer Sfeir claimed a second consecutive RC5 victory in the Lebanese Rally Championship on Cedar’s Rally.

Coming up

The Clio Trophy France Asphalte resumes at the Rallye Vosges Grand Est (14-16 June). With the largest field of the event, there will be plenty of contenders for victory, with 38 crews entered for round two to confirm or reverse the initial trends seen in Le Touquet. Title holder Benjamin Stirling will tackle the second round of his official programme with Clio Rally3. The Sébastien Loeb Racing driver and co-driver Florence Stirling will compete in their home event to continue their promising four-wheel drive debut.
