From Andorra to the Jura, Clio excelled on all snowy fronts this weekend with round two of the Clio Ice Trophy won by Lucas Darmezin and the performance of Clio Rally5 in the hands of Jean-Paul Monnin on the Ronde du Jura !

Clio Ice Trophy

Lucas Darmezin scored his first career win in the Clio Ice Trophy, and is back in the title race with an excellent move forward in the general classification, still led by teammate David Bouet. The two WRM by Chanoine Motorsport / SRD Racing drivers shared the victories in the finals in Andorra. However, nothing is decided yet ahead of the second half of the season. Dylan Dufas, Alex Español, Enzo Lucotte, Joaquin Rodrigo and Bryan Dufas are still in contention and could take the lead as soon as the next meeting, scheduled for Saturday at the Pas de la Casa Circuit !

An early highlight in the French Rally Cup, the Ronde du Jura saw four Clio Rally5s lining up at the start. Among them, Jean-Paul Monnin put in a superb performance on the snow. The two-time Clio Trophy France Terre winner set the seventh fastest time ahead of many cars in the higher categories on SS1 and dominated the proceedings to win his class. Co-driven by Jean-Michel Bertrand, Jean-Paul Monnin finished 15th overall and only missed out on victory in the two-wheel drive category by 6.6 seconds despite two incidents that worked against him. Also competing in Clio Rally5, the duos of Lionel Goujon - Christophe Laperriere and Olivier Berreur - Emilie Tramont, completed the RC5 podium.

Coming up

This week, the title race will gather pace in the Clio Ice Trophy, with seven different drivers in a position to take the lead in the general classification on Saturday and several competitors trying to get back on track ahead of the final on 11 February. Meanwhile, two Clio Rally5s will be in action at the Rallye des Routes du Nord (4-5 February) with the crew of Thierry and Margaux Bonvoisin and the duo of Hervé Jean and Claude Legras.
