Clio Rally3’s debut in the World Rally Championship, a surprise guest in the Clio Trophy France Terre, the new Clio Cup Middle East calendar and a host of victories on special stages around the world : the pace is not slowing down for Clio this summer !

World Rally Championship

In its maiden appearance at the highest level, Clio Rally3 made a strong impression at Secto Rally Finland. Co-driven by Teemu Sillanpää, Finland’s Markus Manninen finished just off the podium in RC3 on his first competitive rally with the car. Meanwhile, Clio Rally4 confirmed its position as the two-wheel drive benchmark with 19 fastest times in RC4 from 22 special stages on the calendar’s fastest round. The Japanese duo of Yuki Yamamoto and Miika Teiskonen ended up third in the category.

Clio Trophy France Terre

France’s most successful co-driver in rallying history, Julien Ingrassia will get behind the wheel at the next Clio Trophy France Terre round on the Rallye Terre de Lozère (25-27 August). Entered with Gilles De Turckheim, the Frenchman will return to the French Gravel Rally Championship while also discovering Clio Rally5 for what promises to be an unforgettable experience with David Automobiles.

Clio Cup Middle East

Following its successful inaugural season, won by Poland’s Jerzy Spinkiewicz, Clio Cup Middle East has released its provisional calendar. The new campaign will feature six meetings during the holiday season. After an official test day at the Dubai Autodrome on 1 December, the competitors will head to Yas Marina (8-9 December) and then to Sakhir (15-17 December). The return to action will take the protagonists to Yas Marina (5-7 January), Dubai (11-13 January), and Losail (2-3 February) before the season finale at Yas Marina (9-11 February).

French Rally Cup

Clio Rally5 continued its fine summer on the national scene, with Olivier and Gabin Willame winning their class at the Rallye de Fourmies en Avesnois. Meanwhile, Antoine Bordagaray and Alan Autegarden led a lockout of the top four at the Rallye des Vins de Vernou, where Clio Rally4 was also victorious in the hands of Thomas Bordagaray and Antoine Loiseau.

Clio Rally3 made a successful debut in Romania at the Raliul Moldovei Bacău. The Turkish duo of Çelik Çağlayan and Sedat Bostanci put in a diligent and consistent drive to win in RC3 and finish ninth overall in the Romanian Gravel Rally Championship. On the same special stages, Sebastian Scîrlet and Sebastian Itu remained in the thick of the title fight by winning in RC5 and claiming their third consecutive podium in the Junior category.

Clio Rally4 also impressed across Europe, with a triple podium for Thomas Martens and Eddy Smeets at Rallijs Cēsis (Latvia), where the Belgian scored his best result in the Latvian Junior Rally Championship. Meanwhile, Simon and Frida Andersson led Clio Rally4 to fourth overall and victory in the two-wheel drive category at the EMC Sprinten (Sweden).

Clio Rally5 extended its list of class wins with victories for Thomas and Melanie Schultz on the ADAC Holsten Rally and Daniel Wittner and Sandra Wittner-Orth on the ADAC KIA-AWS Main-Kinzig Rally in Germany. The model also won the Rally Stari Stolici (Bulgaria) with Aleksandar Tomov and Yavor Brankov, and the Rali Vinho da Madeira (Portugal) with André Freitas and Marco Marote, Carlos González and Diego Rodríguez on Rallye Blendio (Spain) and in Italy with Jan Dvořák and Petr Jindra on Rally Città di Scorzè, Alessandro and Luca Guglielmetti on Rally Valli Oltrepò and Emanuele Gianotti and Davide Monticelli on the Circuito dei Campioni (San Marino). Beyond Europe, there was also success in Latin America, with a category one-two result and a double top-seven overall led by Esteban Lopez and Juan Carlos Molina on Rally Gualaceo (Ecuador).
