The title races accelerated this weekend in Spain and Switzerland as Clio Rally4 and Clio Rally5 racked up further wins in Europe before entering the home stretch of the various calendars !

Clio Trophy Spain

Miguel García and Osel Román became the fourth winners in as many rounds in the 2022 Clio Trophy Spain season on Rally Recalvi Rías Baixas. After an intense battle over the 145-kilometre timed course, the duo won ahead of Carlos Rodríguez - Esther Gutiérrez and Nicolás Cabanes - Javier Moltó by less than 20 seconds.

Despite their retirement, Juanma Mañá and David Fernández still have a two-point lead in the general classification ahead of the season finale at Rallye La Nucía (3-5 November), where six crews will still have a chance to claim the crown. Fourth this weekend, Unai de la Dehesa and Alain Peña scored their fourth win in the race for the Rally Team Spain U24 Beca to mathematically seal their title and win a Clio Rally4 programme in partnership with Renault Spain, Recalvi and RFEDA in 2023.

Two-time reigning Clio Trophy Spain winners Jorge Cagiao and Amelia Blanco also represented the Renault Recalvi Rally Team by dominating the two-wheel-drive category while finishing seventh overall with Clio Rally4.

Clio Trophy Swiss

The Rally del Ticino hosted the penultimate round of the Clio Trophy Swiss. Yoan Loeffler and Mathieu Coppa managed the heavy rain on Friday and cool temperatures on Saturday to take their first victory of the season. While Guillaume Girolamo and Benjamin Bétrisey started the rally at a very high pace, the new Swiss Junior Rally Champions hit a kerb on SS4 before retiring two stages later. Despite their misadventures, they can still deprive Ismaël Vuistiner and Florine Kummer of the title in the season-finale at the Rallye International du Valais (13-15 October). In parallel to the trophy, Sacha Althaus and Lisiane Zbinden in their Clio Rally4 finished second in their category on the same roads.

French Rally Championship

Renault had a large contingent at Rallye Cœur de France with two category wins ; Pauline Dalmasso - Marine Delon (Clio Rally4) and Arthur Roché - Quentin Proust (Clio Rally5). Third in the French 2WD Rally Championship, Pauline Dalmasso also consolidated her second place in the general classification of the French Women’s Rally Championship.
