Benchmarks for entry-level categories in the world of rallying, the two trophies dedicated to Clio Rally5 in France will offer, more than ever, a genuine showcase and unrivalled opportunities for the crews competing in 2025.

Popular among competitors, observers and spectators since the launch of Clio Rally5 in 2020, Clio Trophy France Asphalte and Clio Trophy France Terre have become unmissable fixtures on the French racing scene. After another successful campaign in 2024, the 2025 season promises to be even more fascinating, with many new features creating fresh challenges for all the drivers.

1 + 1 = 3

Clio Trophy France Asphalte and Clio Trophy France Terre will continue in 2025 with independent calendars so that the protagonists can choose their preferred surface or, for the more ambitious, compete on both fronts. Both trophies will continue to consist of five rounds of the French Rally Championship, with the four best results counting in the drivers’ general classification.

An important innovation will be the introduction of the Clio Full Challenge. Designed to reward versatility, this third trophy, which complements the Clio Trophy France Asphalte and Clio Trophy France Terre, will combine their calendars to offer a unique and comprehensive challenge. Open to all, the Clio Full Challenge will count the six best results from each competitor, with at least two results on each surface, to decide its winner.

Unified points systems and energised season finales

With the introduction of the Clio Full Challenge and to encourage consistent performance, the two points systems will be harmonised from 2025 onwards. Introduced this season in Clio Trophy France Terre, the Jean Ragnotti Performer Points rewarding the five fastest crews on each special stage will now be applied to the last ten stages of each rally, on both tarmac and gravel.

At the finish of each round, the top thirty finishers will score points on the 55-45-38-34-31-29-27-25-23-21-20-19-18-17-16-15-14-13-12-11-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 basis. Lastly, the last meetings on each surface will subsequently benefit from a 1.5 coefficient to maintain suspense and test the composure of the contenders in the season finales.

The fundamentals intact

In keeping with their philosophy of innovation, Alpine Racing and Renault’s customer racing department will continue to guarantee absolute fairness between all the competitors, who will benefit from unrivalled technical support and services at this level of the pyramid. Cost control will also remain at the heart of the equation, with a reduced quota of eight Michelin tyres per rally on both surfaces, including the one offered as a starting bonus.

The bonus system will retain its attractiveness through the General, Juniors, Gentlemen, Women, Teams and Renault Network Challenge classes. The prizes paid out to the best drivers at each rally and in each trophy will thus be maintained, with a combination of spare parts vouchers and prize money totalling more than €250,000 in rewards over the two trophies as a whole, in addition to the start and loyalty bonuses. The Clio Full Challenge will also reward the five best competitors according to the final standings with spare parts vouchers, which they can add to the prizes won on tarmac and or gravel.
