As the benchmark for entry-level categories and feeder series in the world of rallying, the two French trophies dedicated to Clio Rally5 will continue to offer competitors an unrivalled setting and unparalleled opportunities, as well as offering new challenges on France’s most beautiful special stages in 2024.

Popular among competitors, observers and spectators since the launch of Clio Rally5, the Clio Trophy France Asphalte and Clio Trophy France Terre have become central on the French rally scene.

After a 2023 campaign that saw the two trophies attract more than 120 crews, the 2024 season promises to be just as exciting. Perfect springboards for ambitious young hopefuls and amateurs looking for thrills, the two competitions will undergo minor changes to become even more attractive.

The first change will be visual. While the fifth-generation Clio remains at the heart of the action, it will adopt the new, even more assertive and elegant styling of its road counterpart. Introducing a new cycle, it will result in a front end that combines technical sophistication and dynamism, a redesigned lighting signature and taut, precise and efficient lines, giving it an even more distinctive character.

In racing terms, the Clio Trophy France Asphalte and the Clio Trophy France Terre will remain independent, with complementary calendars so that the protagonists can take part on the surface of their choice or both if they wish to benefit from all of Clio Rally5’s versatility. Each trophy will continue to run in five rounds of the French Rally Championship, with the four best results establishing the final driver general classifications.

To preserve the fundamentals of a tried-and-tested format while renewing itself, the Clio Trophy Asphalte will return to the Rallye Vosges Grand Est and the Critérium des Cévennes. The points system will remain unchanged, with the top 30 finishers and ten fastest competitors in the Power Stage still rewarded.

It will be the opposite for the Clio Trophy France Terre crews, whose calendar will be identical to this season. On gravel, the main change will be a new points system, specific to this surface, while each stage now awarding bonus ’Performer’ points to the top five to reward consistent performances at the sharp end of the field.

Meanwhile, Alpine Racing will continue to guarantee strict equality between all the protagonists, who will receive unrivalled technical support and services at this level of the rallying pyramid. The bonus system will remain attractive to competitors in various categories : Overall, Juniors, Gentlemen, Women, Teams and Renault Network Challenge. Over €250,000 in prizes will be up for grabs across both competitions, in addition to the start and loyalty bonuses.

Thanks to the support of its loyal partners Castrol, Michelin and Sabelt, Renault will continue its commitment to the most promising youngsters in the Clio Trophy France Asphalte and Clio Trophy France Terre. After Anthony Fotia (2020), Romain Di-Fante and Quentin Ribaud (2021), Tom Pieri and Florian Bouchonneau (2022), and soon Benjamin Stirling and Mattéo Chatillon, the best Juniors on each surface will be offered an official programme in 2025, run by the structure which wins the team classification in their respective trophies.
