The Clio R3T France Trophy renewed in 2017 with prizes for more drivers

Buoyed by its success this year, the Clio R3T France Trophy has been renewed by Renault Sport for the 2017 season. It will be based on six leading events from the French Rally Championship. Regulations will be largely unchanged, but classification prizes will be awarded to more drivers. The winner will receive a Clio R.S..

Renault Clio R3T, having made its competitive debut in autumn 2014, will shortly begin its third season in the promotional trophy created Renault Sport. After a few adjustments were introduced last winter, the regulations will be largely unchanged this year, given the success enjoyed by the formula offered to crews in 2016. With guaranteed technical and sporting fairness, the drivers will be able to compete against one another on equal terms at six of the best events on the 2017 French Rally Championship calendar.

Points will be awarded in identical fashion to this season, in line with the FIA scale, and the same goes for the bonus points awarded for the "Jean Ragnotti best performer" standings. Prize money will be unchanged, for the winners of each event, and for the top Junior (drivers born in 1989 or later) and top Female driver. However, whereas until now the top ten were rewarded at the end of each rally, in 2017 the top 15 will earn prize money. Crews will also be given two Michelin tyres free of charge at each event. Lastly, the overall winner of the Clio R3T France Trophy will receive a Clio R.S..
