Happy birthday Alain Prost

Did you know, for example, that Alain Prost earned a drive with Elf in the 1976 Formula Renault National championship and won the European Formula Renault title a year later ?

The story continued in 1981, with his arrival at Renault Elf Formula One, where he remained until 1983, a year in which he took second place in the world championship. Ten years later he won the world title with Williams-Renault.

The partnership continued in 2009, when Renault supported him at the wheel of a Dacia Duster in the Trophée Andros, a race he went on to win in 2012 in a Dacia Lodgy Glace.

In 2011, at the first World Series by Renault meeting to be held at Le Castellet in the south of France, Renault gave Alain Prost the chance to climb back into his old Renault F1 car and take to the track alongside his son Nicolas, in a Lotus Renault F1, an exciting occasion for all those concerned.

On 14 July 2012, Alain Prost joined Renault Sport CEO Patrice Ratti at the opening of the Moscow Raceway, the venue for World Series by Renault’s very first meeting in Russia.

On 29 September that year, and as a mark of gratitude for his commitment to us, Renault invited Alain Prost to join Romain Grosjean on the track and drive a modern F1 at the WSR meeting at the Circuit Paul Ricard.

Then, in 2014, Renault had no hesitation in joining forces with the Frenchman again and partnering his Formula E team, e.dams Renault co-founded with Jean-Paul Driot.

In August that year Alain Prost was also present at the launch of the Renault Sport R.S. 01 at the Moscow International Automobile Show, and then took part in the car’s first public outing at the WSR meeting at Jerez.

As a longstanding partner of his, the entire Renault Sport team would like to wish him a very happy birthday.
