Key fixtures in French rallying, Clio Trophy France Asphalte and Clio Trophy France Terre will continue to provide a fantastic platform for competitors next year with renewed calendars within the framework of the French Rally Championship. The 2025 season will also see the debut of the Clio Full Challenge, which will test the versatility of the crews.

Since the launch of Clio Rally5 in 2020, the Clio Trophy France Asphalte and Clio Trophy France Terre have won over drivers, observers and fans alike. If any were needed, proof of the quality of these trophies is Mattéo Chatillon, the top Junior in the 2023 Clio Trophy France Terre, who is on the verge of finishing runner-up in the WRC3. Following a 2024 vintage that attracted 94 crews, 2025 promises to be just as exciting with new challenges.

Tarmac changes

The Clio Trophy France Asphalte’s motto is to renew itself while retaining its fundamentals. After Morzine in 2020 and Le Touquet from 2021 to 2024, the 2025 season will kick off with the Rallye Rhône Charbonnières. A first on the calendar since the introduction of Clio Rally5, the event will establish an initial hierarchy before the crews head to the Rallye Aveyron Rouergue Occitanie. After the summer break, the service park will regroup at the Rallye Mont-Blanc Morzine before making a stopover at the Rallye Cœur de France, back after a year’s absence.

As recently announced, the season finale will have a coefficient of 1.5 to keep the suspense alive and test the mettle of the contenders in the closing round. And the competitors will be well served, as this final battle will take place on the Rallye du Var, which will host the trophy for the first time in the Clio Rally5 era. It promises to be an adrenalin-fuelled three days for drivers, co-drivers, teams and fans alike !

An all-new gravel finale

The Clio Trophy France Terre will also undergo subtle changes for its fifth edition. As has been the case since 2022, the Rallye Terre des Causses will continue to open the campaign before the various protagonists head off to Corsica for the superb special stages of the Rallye Terre d’Aléria.

As tradition dictates, the Rallye Terre de Lozère will be the meeting point for the back half of the season before the service park gathers at the Rallye Terre des Cardabelles for a challenge that will put competitors and machines to the test. As on tarmac, the 1.5-coefficient final round will feature a significant innovation, with a new round for the trophy on the Rallye Terre de Vaucluse, where Clio Rally5 has always proved particularly performant.

An exciting season awaits

In addition to the Clio Trophy France Asphalte and Clio Trophy France Terre, one of the new developments will be the introduction of the Clio Full Challenge, designed to highlight versatility on these same rounds. The winner of this new challenge will be decided based on each driver’s six best results, with at least two results on each surface. Eight Michelin tyres will be authorised per rally to facilitate its implementation while containing costs, and the points tables will be harmonised.

Competitors will continue to benefit from the strict sporting and technical equity Alpine Racing provides. The prize system, which combines spare parts vouchers and financial prizes worth more than €250,000, will remain attractive across the categories : General, Juniors, Gentlemen, Women, Teams and Renault Network Challenge.

Lastly, Renault and its partners Castrol, Michelin and Sabelt will continue their commitment to the most promising young drivers. After Anthony Fotia (2020), Romain Di-Fante and Quentin Ribaud (2021), Tom Pieri and Florian Bouchonneau (2022), Benjamin Stirling and Mattéo Chatillon (2023) and soon Arthur Pelamourgues and Tom Pellerey, the best Juniors on each surface will be offered an official programme in 2026, managed by the structure that wins the team classifications in their respective trophies.
